Sweater Weather

Wait for it...

I LOVE THIS SWEATER!  This is shocking {to me} because I am generally not a sweater girl.  The fit of them, I just never really love on me.  But oh when I saw this beaut of a sweater on a rack at the thrift store, my life was changed.  I threw it over my head thinking it was just a poncho, AND.THEN.I.FOUND.THE.SLEEVES.  I say "found" because the sleeves are so oversized that you really have to dig lol

It's one of those pieces that you just fall in. I felt like it just scooped me up and I just dove right in :-)

For this look, I paired it with thigh high laser cut suede boots (which I also thrifted) and this gem of a hat I found the same day as the sweater.  I LOVE this look.  I feel it's something JLo would wear. Or even Mary Kate and/or Ashley (no last names needed).  For the day out I did cave to society's standards and throw on some black jeggings lol

I got shutter happy...and these were the results ;-)

Accessorize

Hey peoples! Since I purchased my Canon t3i this summer I have learned that photography is NOT EASY! I must say, I used to think it was...or well...I guess I never really thought in depth about it.  One thing about me is I love learning things on my own, I feel so empowered when I do! Learning so much about photography is a longggggggg process, but hey, at least I'm learning!  I said all that to say that I took these (unedited) shots and whilst I like the outcome I'm still trying to figure out how to tighten the frame without "littling" the image?, if that makes any sense lol.  These were shot in what appears to be the woods, but it is not. In fact it's my wilderness of a backyard lol (I was tiring of the brick wall).  I just wish I could figure out  damned manual mode using a remote shutter (that is daunting) but until then...This is what I wore today!

The fur collar I detached from a thrifted jacket and livened up this chambray dress.  The dress is from Old Navy and was oversized, so I used a thrifted brooch to cinch it some.  The suede boots are old from Nine West and the earrings and bracelet were thrifted as well.

Velvet, Fur and Net OH MY!

Hey peoples! This thrifted look is comprised of a velvet banded hat, velvet dress, fur stole and suede boots. The hat was about $3 and I purchased it because it reminded me of the lampshade hat Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's. I incorporated the hat into the look because I'd just had a chemical peel and my face needed protection from the sun, so I channeled a Samantha moment from a Sex and the City episode. Who remembers the episode I'm talking about?

I paired the hat with a thrifted velvet dress which I knotted at the side to give the ruched assymetrical look, which photographed well, dontcha think?

REPURPOSE YOUR GARMENTS || CAPELET

Hey Peoples!
I often find ways to repurpose my garments, be it a dress worn backwards, a dress as a skirt etc.  This time while getting dressed I thought to use a wrap skirt as a capelet!

I hadn't seen this shared before, so I thought to pass it on! Just sling the wrap skirt around your shoulders and fasten! and voila, now you have a capelet!  The skirt I used is a vintage Paul Harris Design wool skirt (perfect for the cooler seasons), it has a single button closure and a button fasten inside the waist.  I imagine a wrap skirt with a zipper could work as well! Try it out! You could also embellish the closure with a clip on earring or brooch!

31

So today I thought, “I want to look sophisticated and 31 today" Reason being, I play in clothes so much, I often neglect my soohisticated side.

I paired these vintage jeans with a thrifted top that was BNWT from Marshalls. Blazer was thrifted also along with the fox lapel from a vintage coat and faux fur keychain clipped to my Barr&Barr bag from a consignment shop.

Shoes from Nordstrom Rack by Enzo Angiolini and shades by Ray-ban from Sunglass Hut.

THRIFTED DIY HALLOWEEN COSTUME!!!

My inspiration for this #halloween #diy #thrifted costume came from the great #janetjackson in her 1989 #rhythymnation video!

I thrifted the earrings, jacket, pants, gloves and silver car shade foil that i cut up to detail the jacket and hat! Attached a key to one hoop, added a beauty mark and a bracelet chain to the jacket and I was all set to go! #thriftwithfly #vintage
